Wine Folly Shipment #3: Warm Climate Wines

We received our latest Wine Folly shipment this month focusing on Warm Climate Wines from South Africa, Paso Robles, Spain, and Australia. Climate plays a HUGE role in a wine’s structure. Vines steeped in rich sunlight tend to yield super-ripe grapes that are higher in sugar content, which can increase tannins and produce fuller-bodied fruit-forward grapes. Yummy, right!?

We thought so! We cracked open the Yering Station (an Australian 98% Shiraz 2% Viognier blend) last night with its blackberry, oak, baking spices, and black pepper aromas packing an immediate punch. This wine was medium-bold and full of flavor that finishes with a delightful black pepper zing.

Our Yering Station Rating

This was our third Wine Folly shipment, and we have been satisfied with every bottle we’ve received. Can’t wait to see what the next shipment brings!
