On a recent day trip to Temecula, we re-visited a beloved lunch spot that we’d stumbled upon last August. We are huge fans of Persian food, so when we visited Fazeli Cellars, we were thrilled to discover that their signature restaurant – Baba Joon’s Kitchen – featuring a fabulous fusion pairing of Mediterranean and Persian dishes on their menu.
Fast-forward to today, February 16, 2022, we popped over for lunch. Their tasting menu – at only $25 per flight – feature some of their best wines. We noticed two of our favorites: the Shirin (we purchased a bottle last August) and the Phel Phel, but it was the Sweet Riesling emphasized on the menu with a beautiful bright blue peacock feather that caught my eye. I had to try it! The server sweetly served me a small sample, and the aroma and taste of honey and flowers and apple popped immediately. Of course, I ordered a bottle. (Pro Tip: a glass is 14, but a bottle is $20, so I recommend ordering the bottle.)
