Illuminating Lumen Pinot Noir

Picked up another treasure a couple of weeks ago after a tasting The Wine Crush — a sweet boutique wine shop that hosts weekly tastings. This bottle of Lumen Wines Pinot Noir was such a gem that we brought home a bottle.

High in acidity, Pinot Noir can benefit by malolactic fermentation and this wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation that balanced out the acidity. Pale in intensity, this wine is ruby, yet almost garnet with orange hues meeting slight red at the rim. Aromas of tart cherry, soft oak, prune cola, and slight cigar popped on the nose. My cheeks puckered slightly at the zippy, yet balanced acidity as it softened with low tannin. I highly recommend this wine.

Check out The Wine Crush for well-rounded selections of wine each week in their weekly tasting. I am there most Saturday nights tasting my tongue off, so see you there!
