Estate grown and bottled in Rutherford of the Napa Valley Region, the Grgich Hills 2017 Zinfandel is full-bodied with chewy tannins and low-medium acidity. The aroma of blackberry and cherry along with baking spices, tobacco, and pepper sprang from the glass at first sniff, and the taste was phenomenal.
We first tried this bottle at The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar in Tustin on my 50th birthday when we decided to pop in for the first time and enjoy a bottle of wine. In an instant, the staff welcomed us warmly and led us to an outdoor patio area with cozy couches tucked into a corner. (These couches became our spot of choice in subsequent visits.)
We LOVE this place.
The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and full of energy, and we have loved every bottle of wine they’ve presented to us. From bartender to server to manager to sommelier, each develops an outstanding rapport with their patrons, and it carries over from visit to visit.
